The Storage House
The storage house was once connected with the manor by a secret underground passage. This square two-storey building was erected by Achacy Taszycki for the Polish Brethren’s Protestant community. It was most likely here that the Arian Faustus Socinus lived in the last years of his life.
Researchers disagree as to whether this 16th-century storage house was a Calvinist print shop, a church, or fulfilled both functions interchangeably. For renovating the manor and overhauling the storage house, the Pendereckis received the 2002 Genius Loci Polonia award “for the protection of Polish landscape.”
